17 - 28 July, Guildford College of Law

Directed by Tom Littler
Designed by Neil Irish
Original Music composed by Mary MacAdam
Choreography by Becki Howell

The gardens of the College of Law exploded in a riot of glorious fun and colour as we rushed headlong into the forest and discovered all the complexities that comes with falling in love! Shakespeare's sunniest comedy was set in 1913, with cricket, croquet, a cast of sheep, pigs and chickens, magic tricks and beautiful original music. An amazing 1969 people saw the show, a record for the venue.

"I confess I've never much liked the play, but tonight you showed how much sheer joy and drama is to be had from it - largely because of you! We had the most stupendous time."

"Lynn (now 11 and in her 4th year of regular attendance) absolutely loved both productions, as did I."

"My 10 year old commented that he particularly liked this play ...Well done therefore on a performance that so engaged him because the narrative was delivered so sublimely that he was able to access Shakespeare effortlessly!"

"What a great performance! We all really enjoyed it and coming to watch GSC in the summer has now become a tradition"

"That's two more youngsters in the world hooked on Shakespeare. We talked about the play all the way home."

"You really are such a talented Company, and Guildford is the richer in culture for seeing such professional and enthusiastic acting. Long may it continue."
