GSC Saturdays

Saturday Drama Club

Every Saturday we ignite the imagination of young actors in small friendly groups. Working with professional actors and stage combat instructors, they play fun games, rehearse plays, strengthen their confidence and learn more about the exciting world of theatre.

So far this year, we've performed scenes from King Lear on The Holy Trinity Church set and recorded short audio-plays with Eagle Radio (To listen, please visit our Teaching Resources Page) and performed our own version of The Wind in the Willows at Watts Gallery.

Next Term, we will be rehearsing for Shakespeare's most popular 'fairy tale'. Join us for A Midsummer Night's Dream, working together to create characters, tell stories, learn new skills and make good friends.

GSC Drama Sprites

GSC Drama Sprites

Now in its fourth year, we host a series of after-school Drama Clubs in Primary Schools.

GSC Drama Sprites will teach your child to tell stories in a fun and interactive way, to create characters, to use their imaginations and to work and play as a team. Drama helps build confidence and teaches better communication skills. We will even explore a Shakespeare character or two! Above all we will have FUN!

These are currently at Queen Eleanor’s C of E Junior School (2 classes) and Sandfield Primary School.

Holiday Drama

Holiday Clubs

Our drama isn't just limited to term-time. We hold a variety of workshops and clubs in the school holidays. Last summer we performed Twelfth Night and Beauty and the Beast. This autumn we created our very own play, based on the Surrey folk tale Mathew Trigg and The Pharisees (that's what fairies were called in these parts).

2015 Holiday Clubs

Meet our professional actors and learn their rehearsal secrets, before watching the afternoon matinee with your new friends. The day will begin with a 2 hour workshop, where the actors will teach us new games and rehearsal tricks. We’ll settle on the grass to see them in action for the 2.30 performance of The Taming of the Shrew.

Saturday 18th July

University of Law, Portsmouth Road

Fee: £25 per place (includes matinee ticket)
