17 June - 3 July, 2010 - Guildford Castle Gardens
Our fifth open-air season opened at Guildford Castle with Shakespeare's dazzling celebration of young love, bursting with colour, engrossing wit and glorious word-play.
Set in 1940's France, the castle bandstand became the King of Navarre's childhood playground where he and his three friends vow to undertake three years of study, forswearing all forms of pleasure...but such scholarly devotion is thrown into chaos when the beautiful Princess of France and her ladies arrive on a diplomatic mission!
