4th to 23rd February 2013, Holy Trinity Church

Our 17th production saw us stage Shakespeare's gripping thriller to a record-breaking 4403 people in Holy Trinity Church. Running for 3 weeks, the production saw many familiar faces returning to GSC from both previous summer and winter seasons, directed by Caroline Devlin who completed her Holy Trinity trilogy with this show. The classic "crusader/medieval" design by Sarah Bacon was complemented by a spectacular lighting design by Declan Randall and evocative atmospheric soundtrack courtesy of Matt Eaton.

Over 1000 school children saw the production which was complemented by an eclectic events programme including a talk on The Real Macbeth by Dr Fiona Watson and a staged reading of a brand new sequel to Shakespeare's play, Macbeth Part II: The Seed of Banquo, which received its European Premier at St Mary's Church.

The Creative Team

We are delighted to reveal that director Caroline Devlin who had us all in stitches with this summer’s Merry Wives, and who took us to the dark depths of Richard III and Hamlet is back with us to helm this production.

Joining her is designer Sarah Bacon who gave us the hugely colourful Merry Wives; Declan Randall will once again be working his magic with the lighting design as he did on Richard III and the amazing Matt Eaton will be be doing very clever things with music and sound once more! Vanessa Cook joins us as Movement Director.

Once again the fights will be choreographed by Philip d'Orleans.

Returning as DSM is Elaine Yeung for her third winter season, and Production Manager Olivia Dermott Walsh also returns following Richard III. New to the stage management team is Lisa Cochrane.

What a team!
